Commercial & Industrial Epoxy in Lancaster

Epoxy is a good commercial floor when the system is chosen for the space: seamless, easy to clean and tough under traffic. Accent installs commercial floors for shops, offices, restaurants and salons, plus industrial floors for hangars and warehouses. Pricing is quoted after a site visit, because chemicals, traffic and downtime change the system.

A business floor works all day. Customers walk across it, carts and pallet jacks roll over it, and spills, grease, cleaning chemicals and tracked-in grit hit it before you open the doors. The Antelope Valley adds its own demands, with an economy built on aerospace and flight test, manufacturing and small local business, and with dust that blows in through every open bay door.

Accent Epoxy Floors installs commercial and industrial floors in Lancaster, Palmdale, Mojave and the surrounding communities. On the commercial side that means retail shops, offices, restaurants and salons. On the industrial side it means aircraft hangars, manufacturers, warehouses and shops that need anti-static or chemical-resistant coatings. These are different jobs and they get different systems, so this page covers both and says plainly where one does not fit the other.

We do not publish a per-square-foot price for commercial and industrial work, and we explain why below. We do offer a free site visit, a fixed written quote and a downtime plan before anything is scheduled. Read this page, then bring us your floor and your questions.

Install Time & Cure

Time depends on the system and the size of the space. Standard installs run flake one day, solid color three days, metallic three to four days and quartz finish two to three days, and larger or phased jobs are scheduled in the written quote. Cure comes in stages. Light foot traffic returns first, then carts and rolling loads, and heavy equipment and forklifts wait longest. We give you those dates in writing before work starts. Anti-static floors are tested after cure, and chemical-resistant floors should not see aggressive chemicals until they have fully cured. Keep to your date, and ask us if anything about your schedule changes.

Is It the Right Floor for You?

Choose epoxy for a seamless, cleanable, long-lasting floor in shops, offices, restaurants and salons. Choose a hangar or chemical-resistant system, specified after a site visit, when fuels, hydraulic fluid or aggressive chemicals are present. Choose an anti-static system when your standard requires static control. Choose grind and seal when you want protected, natural-looking concrete at the lowest cost and do not need color. Skip coating when the slab has a moisture problem that has not been tested and solved, or when the concrete is failing. For a home garage, look at our garage floor pages.

Is epoxy flooring good for a business?

Yes, for most interior commercial spaces, and for a few clear reasons. Epoxy is seamless, so there are no grout lines or plank edges to trap dirt and no gaps for moisture. It cleans with a mop and a neutral cleaner, resists most spills when they are wiped up promptly, and can be built in a wide range of colors and finishes. It also keeps its look under constant foot traffic far better than bare concrete, which dusts and stains. The tradeoffs are real. A hard floor is tiring for people who stand all day, so anti-fatigue mats help at counters and stations. Heavy impacts can chip any coating. Direct sun through large windows can amber standard epoxy over time. And a slab with a moisture problem needs testing and the right basecoat before anything goes down.

What is the best floor for a restaurant kitchen?

A kitchen floor has to handle grease, hot water, constant wet traffic and frequent washing, so the system is chosen for the room and not copied from a garage. The details matter more than the color. A cove base curves the floor up the wall so there is no seam where food and water collect. Drains need the floor to pitch toward them. The surface needs enough texture to stay safe when wet and grease is present, without becoming so rough that it is impossible to clean. Steam and very hot wash-down water are hard on any coating, so we ask how your kitchen is cleaned before recommending a system. We look at the cook line, the dish area, the walk-in and the drains during the site visit, and we specify from there. The dining room can use a completely different, more decorative finish.

Is epoxy good for retail stores, offices and salons?

It is one of the best choices for these spaces, because the floor is both a work surface and part of your brand. A flake epoxy floor adds texture and hides scuffs. A solid color epoxy floor gives a clean, bright, modern look. A metallic epoxy floor makes a showroom or boutique stand out. Installs in a small space are quick. A flake system is one day, solid color three days, and metallic three to four days, with your written quote listing the schedule. Salons have one special concern: hair color, bleach and nail products can mark some surfaces, so tell us what you use and we will choose accordingly. Offices and storefronts gain a seamless floor that takes rolling chairs and carts without the seams that tile and sheet goods develop. Look through the color chart to start narrowing a look.

Is epoxy good for a warehouse with forklift traffic?

It can be, if the system matches the traffic. A warehouse floor is judged by wheels, loads and joints. Hard forklift wheels turning in place are far tougher on a coating than foot traffic, and pallet jacks concentrate weight in small contact areas. The slab itself has to be sound first, since a coating only protects concrete that is already in good shape. Cracks and joint edges are repaired, the surface is diamond ground, and the system is built to the level of traffic you describe. Lane lines, walkways and safety zones can be marked in color, and a texture can be added where floors get wet or oily. We also tell you honestly when a floor sees such heavy steel-wheel traffic that it will wear faster, so you can plan for it. Describe your equipment and aisle layout and we will build the quote around them.

Good to know

What People Ask About Commercial & Industrial Epoxy

Is epoxy flooring good for retail stores?

Yes. Epoxy is seamless, easy to clean and available in flake, solid and metallic looks that suit a storefront. It handles foot traffic and carts and installs quickly in small spaces. Anti-fatigue mats at counters help staff who stand all day.

What is the best flooring for a restaurant kitchen floor?

A seamless epoxy system with a cove base, proper drain slope and a slip-resistant texture is a strong choice. The right version depends on grease, hot water and how the kitchen is washed down. We specify the system after seeing the cook line, drains and walk-in.

What is cove base on an epoxy floor and why does it matter?

A cove base is the coating curved up the bottom of the wall, so there is no seam where floor meets wall. It stops water, food and dust from collecting in the corner and makes washing easier. It is common in kitchens, salons, clinics and food areas.

Is epoxy good for a warehouse with forklift traffic?

It can be, when the slab is sound and the system is built for the traffic. Hard wheels turning in place are tough on coatings, so tell us about your equipment, loads and aisles. We repair joints, grind the surface and quote a system that fits.

What is the best floor for an aircraft hangar?

It depends on the fluids, loads and slab, so hangar floors are specified after a site visit. Fuel and Skydrol attack ordinary epoxy, which is why chemically resistant topcoats are used. We review your products and data sheets before naming a system.

What is an ESD or anti-static floor and who needs one?

An ESD floor is a conductive or dissipative coating connected to a ground that controls static electricity. Electronics, aerospace assembly and some labs need one. The required resistance comes from your standard, and the floor is tested after installation.

Is epoxy flooring good for a hair or nail salon?

Yes. A seamless floor cleans easily and takes rolling chairs well. Hair color, bleach and nail products can mark some surfaces, so tell us what you use before we choose the system. Solid color and flake finishes are common choices.

How long will my business be closed for an epoxy floor?

It depends on the system and size. A flake floor is one day, solid color three days, metallic three to four days and a quartz finish two to three days. Larger spaces take longer, and we can phase work or schedule after hours. The written quote lists dates.

Can a commercial floor be coated in phases so the business stays open?

Often yes, depending on layout and access. We can divide a space into zones, coat one at a time and move your operation between them. Phasing adds planning and can add days overall, but it keeps part of the building working. We build the plan into the quote.

How much does a commercial epoxy floor cost?

Commercial and industrial floors are quoted after a free site visit, because slab condition, traffic, repairs, cove base and chemical needs change the price. The quote is fixed and in writing, and it lists the system, schedule and what is included, so there are no surprises later.
